(Mixed) Feelings...but mainly tired, still can't sleep...kinda excited about Park.Um

Inspired by Create Something Every Day by Stef I am putting together a list of people we could involve in the "Park.Um" project we presented tonight.  A bit of guerrila square/park squatting :-). Just you wait Pilsen...
We already have a bus that can be used as a bus cinema for student video films and projections, I had an offer for a Mongolian karaoke, a free wi-fi connection coverage in exchange for some promo, we have another art student on the team (Irina from Belorussia) who could...my mind is just spinning. Let's just do it now and not wait for the city to do it for us first...but ask the passersby too - doing our bit of mapping again tomorrow. Hope it doesn't rain. Off to sleep now. She says, hopefully.
Night night,
Irena

Our interactive map

It's presentation night at the Pilsen UIB. Here is Martina presenting our interactive map where people can comment on underused public places and suggest activities and ideas.

Following what Ed said and Stef has done...

... there is an interesting project called HistoryPins which allows people to share memories linked to place: http://www.historypin.org

Visualisations of 2015 Culture Document

This is a Java sketch that looks up the Pilsen Cultural Plan for the 2015 Capital of Culture bid http://www.plzen2015.net/kandidujeme/ke-stazeni/ and creates a visualisation using the most common words used- the bigger the words the more times it is used in the sketch. There is an English version at http://www.sacculi.co.uk/processing/pilsenhashmapen/index.html and a Czech language version at http://www.sacculi.co.uk/processing/pilsenhashmapcz/index.html
You have to wait a couple of minutes for all the text to load - and see how the authors have prioritised ideas and concepts!!

Curiouser and curiouser

...in a positive way about how today we go forward with the 6 projects the strategic group is proposing.
Do we divide into 6 working teams or do we stay in the initial groups distributing and coordinating the workload between us?
:-).
Really looking forward to it.
Ir.

Museum Night at "13" Gallery

As there have been a couple of posts about what is happening in Pilsen culture-wise on the blog...here is my contribution from our peir activity in the 13 Gallery (West Bohemian Gallery). Based on the works of Karel Teige, a famous Czech typographer and art theoretician of the 20s and 30s, parents and children "dressed up books", made "body letters" on the floor and "interactive texts sculpture" which was devised by a graphic designer Jan Dienstbier...who happens to be photodocumenting the bakery for us. The gallery sprang to life for a few hours, which was nice to see...should be done more often...and we should walk out of the gallery space into the streets.

Psychogeography of Pilsen

Inspired by psychogeographical mapping by the Situationists we collected people's places of importance. Some of our psychogeography posts on the Pilsen map on Wilson Bridge on Saturday included places where:
...I have started my new life
...it all began
...I stand and wait
...I go and play in the shade
...there is a secret spiritual place
...I was sick on the merry-go-round for the first time
...my whole family had been born
...we've met and decided to be together
...we like it a lot
...I have never actually been before
